How essential are ICTs to my life

After reading Zoe Anderson’s blog post (https://zoeandersonblog.wordpress.com/2016/04/20/cant-live-with-them-cant-live-without-them/) it made me think about essential ICTs are in my life. I use ICTs every single day of my life. Whether I am on my phone checking facebook, watching tv for the news, watching netflix on my computer and doing university or even playing video games on the xbox; it is hard to go without it for me. It got me thinking about the last time I went camping. I had to make sure I was at a camping site that had powerpoints to charge my phone and laptop. With my phone I still had access to the internet and with my computer I was able to watch movies I had stored on the hard drive. Whilst this is something that mostly happened at night time it’s surprising I couldn’t go without it completely. For me, and many others I’m sure, going without it completely for a week would be extremely hard.
